[Sword World 2.5/play report] Before Hever Keep
Session One — 10/09/24
Running SWORD WORLD 2.5 this evening for my old group — it’s maybe the first session we had in a year.
We paired Japan’s oldest rpg with Fromsoft’s latest setting and had a weird fantasy world where the sun doesn’t set but all wells tap water that acts as healing potions.
Dramatis Personae
- a human fighter 4 / ranger 4
- a human marksman 4 / artificer 4
- a runefolk marksman 4 / scout 3 / sorcerer 3
They met at the same refugee camp after raiders displaced their access to other wells, so decided they needed to work together to take out the feathered bat at a nearby ruined keep.
Being a fromsoft ripoff, their choices were a cliff path (home to harpies) or a poison swamp (home to gull-sized flies).
They fashioned makeshift masks to help resist the miasma and made good progress through the sodden bog, taking out a couple of groups of flies en route, arriving at the gates of the keep at the end of the (2h) session.
