You’ve three stats:

  • Attunement

Distribute one point between them

  • 6 — YOU DIED
  • 7–9 You won
  • 10+ You won and the enemy dropped treasure

When you face a boss enemy in open combat, roll 2d6. If either dice =< your Stamina, you can treat it as a 5.

  • 6 — YOU DIED
  • 7–9 You weakened the boss
  • 10+ You killed the boss if they were weakened; you weaken them otherwise

CASTING

When you discharge an attuned spell, roll 2D6. If either dice =< your Attunement, you can treat it as a 5.

  • 6 — The spell missed and it was your final charge
  • 7–9 The spell landed; it was your final charge
  • 10+ The spell landed

EFFORT

When you push yourself after an action, lower an attribute by one and raise the outcome of the dice roll by one tier.

ADVANCEMENT

When you consume as many boss souls as the square of your total attributes, increase an attribute by one (to a maximum of three).

CREDITS

Inspired by Apocalypse World, and The Between, and Reavers of Mag, and Dark Souls, and spite.

Looks like you need a dungeon to play this with, eh?

Perpetual Temple of the Pale Falcon could be the perfect start to your next campaign.
